I really enjoy the challenge of helping patients with chronic pain and complex conditions using all the skills and experience built up over 39 years of clinical practice. I am never daunted by long lists of symptoms or when patients tell me nobody has been able to help them before.

At the other end of the spectrum, my experience in orthopaedics and A&E, as well as my private practice experience has helped me develop effective approaches to sports injuries and other acute injuries.
Whatever condition you present with, my first goal is always to give you some pain relief and to make you more comfortable.
To get really good and longer lasting results, it’s important to establish any underlying issues that are contributing to, or even directly causing your problem.

Common underlying causes are often old injuries that have long been forgotten about, or myofascial restrictions that have gradually built up without you noticing, pulling your body out of balance and alignment.
Over the months and years those old injuries and restrictions have knock-on effects and eventually that shoulder problem you thought had recovered at the time, is now responsible for your lower back pain, and that old ankle sprain is causing your recurring hip bursitis.
One of my greatest strengths is the ability to identify and correct that (sometimes elusive) underlying issue, which then allows your body to bring itself back into balance and alignment.
Throughout my career I have developed a wide range of hands-on skills that relieve pain and restore movement. A more recent skill which I use alongside my other techniques is that of Myofascial ReleaseTherapy (John F Barnes Approach).
