Conditions
Which conditions do you treat?
In my experience, musculo-skeletal problems, especially those of a chronic nature, don’t usually present themselves as isolated, clearly diagnosed conditions. They often present as a muddle of symptoms affecting one or more parts of the body.
Your ‘muddle’ of symptoms, combined with what I can see and feel, are unique to you and as I begin to understand how your body as a whole is moving, the labels of ‘Tennis Elbow’, 'Sciatica' etc become of limited use, and can even be unhelpful in that it draws the attention to the symptoms and not to the cause.
In general, any persistent problems or recurring injuries should always be looked at, but some of the most common complaints I treat are;

- Sciatica
- Back Pain
- Neck Ache
- Jaw Pain
- Foot Problems
- Headaches
- Hip Bursitis
- Shoulder Pain
- Arthritis
- Sports Injuries
- Carpel Tunnel
- Post-Op Rehab for Joint Replacements & other Orthopaedic Surgery
I have also been able to help other types of conditions, particularly patients with longer term respiratory problems simply by releasing the fascia around the ribcage, and mobilising the rib joints, This allows the ribs to move more freely which can help the lungs to function more efficiently.
Maintenance Appointments

In the same way we might have dental checks and eye tests to keep those parts of our bodies healthy, our musculo-skeletal systems can sometimes benefit from a periodic check up, especially as we get older.
Sometimes it's just to check things are not slipping back after your treatment stops. At other times it can just provide reassurance that your niggly aches and pains are not the beginnings of arthritis or anything more serious.
Are there any conditions that you can’t help?
There are a few areas where I feel that I cannot offer the same level of expertise.
Neurological Conditions such as MS and Stroke.
Neurology is a different and quite specialised area of Physiotherapy in which I have not trained. However, patients with these conditions may still suffer from musculo-skeletal pain, in which case I would be happy to help.
Women’s Health conditions
At the moment I am not experienced in treatments for conditions such as incontinence or gynaelogical issues. However, some Myofascial Therapists and Physiotherapists have undertaken specialist training in this area. They will usually advertise this on their website.
Young children
Certainly babies and toddlers are not within my area of expertise. I am happy to see teenagers and possibly younger children after discussion with one of their parents.
